"Bonum vinum cum popone" slices
of melon flavoured with marsala(Fettine di melone al marsala)

- A)
- 1 sweet and tasty melon, well ripe but not soft
- B)
- 1 glass of dry Marsala
- 1 spoon of sugar
- 2 cloves
- 1/4 tea spoon of fine spices
- 1 pinch of curry
- 2 pieces of the skin of an orange
- a pinch of salt

Cut the melon in two parts, remove all the seeds and the internal
stringy parts, then divide it in 8 slices, previously cleaned from the skin
and the external green parts.
Take a blender and put all the ingredients mentioned at point B) and mix
very well in order to disintegrate all the ingredients; then finely sieve
this stuff in a small bowl.
Take 4 plates, pour some spoons of spiced wine in each plate and lay over
it 2 slices of melon (2 for each plate), then serve immediately like a fresh
hors d'oeuvre. |
