Viola mammola, Viola
odorata
|
|
Family of violaceae
It is a typical Spring flower like daisy and primrose, but compare to
these ones it is very scented even if it loses its scent very early. A
proverb says: "dopo la santissima Annunziata, la viola è già
passata".
|
Use
Its leaves and flowers have expectorant and laxative properties,
so that infusions and syrups are prepared. Leaves can be used for
Spring salads or to decorate, together with flowers, salads, cakes
and whisked cream. |
